DEE WHY (and I CAN READ® Head Office)
Dee Why has several in-house teachers and is the I Can Read training hub, where new teachers receive their specialised training to teach the System. The I Can Read trainer is also one of our teachers at Dee Why, which also boasts one of our longest serving teachers, Annie, with her loyal following of students who have been with her for several years.

One of our most established centres in NSW, our busy Bankstown centre has been in operation for over 10 years. Owned by I Can Read Head Office, and expertly managed by Head Teacher, Susan, ICR Bankstown is supported by a great team of experienced teachers with a large following of loyal and engaged students.

Another of our earliest centres, the Burwood centre is owned by I Can Read Head Office, and run like clockwork by Janine our Manager and supported by our most experienced and longest serving teacher Peta, who has been managing the school since its inception. Peta is a role model for trainee teachers who observe her classes as part of their training. This very popular centre has recently re-located to bigger and better premises with more teachers and more classrooms to accommodate its growing numbers.

Our newest centre, Carlingford opened its doors in 2020, and despite the setback to business since the COVID restrictions, has been supported strongly. Carlingford is owned and managed by Kate, who efficiently accommodates parents and children to meet their literacy needs, along with teacher, Anna, who is highly qualified and well respected by parents and students. The centre is in a great location near malls and shops.

Due to increasing enquires from the Hills district, I Can Read Castle Hill quickly established itself as the go-to place for literacy in the Hills district. I Can Read Castle
Hill is owned and managed by Jessie and Jessica, and has become one of the fastest growing centres in Sydney, fulfilling a demand for literacy enrichment for children
from 3-12 years in the district.

This centre, previously owned for ten years by I Can Read Head Office, was taken over
by Sue in 2016 and after moving to new premises has quickly grown to accommodate hundreds of students. The Chatswood centre is owned and managed by Sue, supported by several experienced teachers, many of whom have been teaching at Chatswood since its inception. Located in the heart of Chatswood opposite The Chase, getting to the centre couldn’t be more convenient. It continues to grow rapidly and has recently acquired more space downstairs for extra classrooms for its growing numbers.

Coffs Harbour was opened in 2018 to fill a growing need in the mid north coast for literacy support for pre-school and primary school students. This centre is owned and operated by Jane and Wayne, who is also a teacher. Wayne previously owned an I Can Read Centre at Narellan, before setting off on an odyssey around Australia with his wife and children, at the end of which they fell in love with Coffs Harbour and decided to make it their home. Wayne is a qualified primary and secondary school teacher with
a Masters in Education, and has been teaching the I Can Read System for almost ten years.

Hornsby opened its doors in 2013 and is conveniently just one minute walk from the Mall. The Hornsby centre has been owned and operated by Christie since its inception. Christie is a teacher who previously worked in I Can Read centres owned by I Can Read (Australia) Pty Ltd before deciding she loved the programme so much that she wanted to open her own centre. Another very popular I Can Read centre, with loyal parents and students, that continues to grow.

A relatively new centre, St Ives opened in 2019. Owned and operated by Jessie with a centre manager in place, the St Ives centre has grown quickly with three or more I Can Read teachers onsite to accommodate students. Jessie has a special interest in drama and is keen to promote the I Can Read drama programmes. Jessie’s centre is conveniently located across the road from St Ives shopping village.

Our first Australian centre outside of NSW, the Melbourne centre in Box Hill opened its doors in 2020. Owner Ben has a keen interest in literacy and has been aware of the effectiveness of the I Can Read System through friends and colleagues whose children attend our NSW centres. Unfortunately, Ben has had to temporarily close his doors until restrictions in Melbourne are eased. He hopes to re-open in Term 1, 2021.
